FAQs

What makes your honey different from store-bought honey?

Our honey is raw, unfiltered, and single-source—meaning it comes directly from hives we manage in North Texas or the Texas Hill Country, never blended from multiple locations. Unlike most store-bought honey, we never heat it above hive temperature or run it through ultra-filtration, so all the natural enzymes, pollen, and flavor stay intact. We also bottle exclusively in glass jars and use only certified organic ingredients in our creamed and infused varieties. No additives, no preservatives, no shortcuts—just honey the way the bees made it.

Is your honey really raw? What does that mean?

Yes! Raw honey means it's never heated above the natural temperature of a beehive (around 95°F), which preserves all the beneficial enzymes, antioxidants, and pollen that heat-processing destroys. It's also unfiltered, so you might notice natural variations in color, texture, or even small bits of beeswax—that's a good thing. It means you're getting honey in its purest, most nutritious form, exactly as the bees intended.

How should I store my honey, and does it expire?

Honey is one of nature's most shelf-stable foods and never truly expires when stored properly. Keep your jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight—no refrigeration needed. Over time, raw honey may naturally crystallize (turn solid or grainy). This is completely normal and actually a sign of quality! To return it to liquid form, simply place the jar in warm (not boiling) water and stir gently. For creamed honey, crystallization won't happen because of the whipping process, but it's still best stored at room temperature.

Can local honey really help with allergies?

Many people find that consuming local, raw honey helps reduce seasonal allergy symptoms over time. The theory is that trace amounts of local pollen in raw honey can help your body build tolerance to those same pollens in the environment—similar to how allergy shots work. While scientific research is still evolving on this topic, we can tell you that our honey is as local as it gets: single-source from North Texas or the Hill Country, raw and unfiltered, with all the pollen intact. If you're trying honey for allergy support, consistency is key—enjoy a spoonful daily during allergy season and see how you feel.
